Omonia struggling at the beginning of the season
26 Octoner 2018
Omonia came with great expectations and hopes into the new season. Changes had been done throughout each level in the club and seen as improvements but that did not lead to immediate results. And as usual the first to feel the wrath of a string of bad results is the coach. Three defeats in a row highlighted by zero goals being scored led to Juan Carlos Oliva losing his job and Omonia are on the look for a new coach to warm the hot seat.

Omonia started the season with two narrow wins against two clubs they usually beat comfortably was not a good sign to what was to come. Then defeats to AEK and Apollon and finally the loss to Nea Salamina got Oliva to know that the end had reached. No goals scored in three games is a cause to worry for the Omonia faithful. They are worried to know where the goals will come from.

Matt Derbyshire has to start heating up soon as his goals have carried Omonia the last two seasons. Derbyshire has been having a slow start and that is reflecting on the clubs results. Omonia need to get goals from somewhere else soon if Derbyshire does not produce immediately. Angel Gomez, the technical director will be in charge of the first team and has taking over the training sessions until a new coach takes over. Struggling Pafos FC is next up for Omonia and will give them a good chance to righten the course.
